Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potions

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I've had these couple of eyeshadow primers sitting in my stash for a while now and can't believe I've not written up a little review of them yet! I use one or the other of the Urban Decay Primer Potions pretty much every day for a couple of months so can give a good opinion on both by now.

First up the original primer release, the very aptly named Urban Decay Original Primer Potion*. This is only a teeny sample size that I was kindly gifted during an UD Masterclass at Selfridges in Birmingham but I'll tell you what - it's last well! You really do only need a teeny tiny amount for each eyelid because the product goes a long way. This one is great for my go-to winged liner, natural shadow combo because it has no colour to it. The Original Primer Potion can work with any eyeshadow look you're opting for without distorting colour because of it's translucent finish. Even if I'm not wearing shadow, I use this to make my liner stay in place for longer.

Next up is the beautiful Urban Decay Sin Primer Potion* - I was so happy when I won one of Couture Girl Kayleigh's giveaway's and this was in the stash because it was my first time using one of the infamous Primer Potion's from UD. I adore this one! Sin works great with so many of the eyeshadow looks I go for because I tend to use neutral shades with metallic finishes and this is a gorgeous champagne colour so it compliments things like that so well. If you've got any of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. Sin Primer Potion will work perfectly alongside them. Again, you need a tiny amount and it also looks great alone for an easy wash of shimmer day-to-day.

At £16,00 for each of these, the price may seem steep but I can promise you they'll last so long that it's well worth every penny. There are two others in the range - Anti-Aging, which has vitamins and minerals for mature skin and Eden, which has a skin-tone finish to counteract redness. It's this second one I think I will invest in next because my lids can get some uneven tones on some occasions.

Have you tried any of the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potions?

  2. I love the Primer Potion, it really helps your shadow stay crease free. My tube seems to be never ending.
