Trying Out Boots Botanics Skincare

Boots Botanics
Oh hello, 300th post!! How crazy it that?! Anyway let's move on... so I mentioned in this post that I'd been trialling some products from the Botanics range at Boots recently and, as it's been around a month, I thought it was about time I gave some feedback on them. I'd been after some new skincare bits, staple stuff, but didn't have the funds for a trip to Cult Beauty or Space NK so Boots it was and I came home with two eye creams and a moisturiser from the Botanics range.

First off, these products have really lengthy names but I've listed it in full so you know exactly which one it is. There are a bunch of different products to suit various skin types so I was lost in the counters for a bit but opted for the Hydrating Eye Serum as my night-time choice. My heart still belongs to Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye Cream but this has done ok in it's place. It's a serum so it's fairly lightweight considering it's hydrating but has left my skin feeling fresh in the morning. There's no residue left over and I've had no puffiness or reaction to it. Will I repurchase? If I'm on a budget then yes but if I have more cash to hand, I'll be opting for something different. At £9.99 it's not the cheapest out there, more middle of the road, but with so many offers in Boots, you'll usually get it on 3 for 2.

When it comes to an eye cream for day use, I want something that's going to perk me up and brighten that area of my face each day. Using an eye cream in the day is something I've only just started doing really but it's really been helping for pre-makeup application. This eye cream is a little thicker than the one above but feels nice on the skin. I can't say I've seen any brightening as such with it but maybe the dark circles are a little less prominent so that's a plus! As you can see both of these are for hydrating because that's what I feel my area needs and I have to say they have delivered to a certain extent. The duo together I definitely think have helped ease puffiness because I'd usually get problems under my eyes each morning and I've definitely not had that which is really impressive for such affordable products! This one is £8.99.

The third item I picked up was a new daytime moisturiser. In the mornings I like something fairly intensive to inject some moisture into my skin on my early starts. This actually smells really lovely, the rosehip is gorgeous but not overpowering and it feels much more luxurious that its £8.99 price tag - which is amazing by the way for 50ml that's 81% organic! Despite being a fairly thick, my skin soaks this up with ease and my makeup applies wonderfully afterwards. A little goes a long way so this tub will last you a very long time - I've hardly made a dent and have used it every day for around a month! There's also the Botanics All Bright Hydrating Day Cream SPF15 that I'd be tempted to try too - dealing with getting a brighter complexion and its SPF sounds super intriguing!

Overall it's been a very pleasant experience for my first try at the Botanics range. For a budget option they're really impressive and you all know I love the Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm - that will definitely be repurchased when I run out!

Have you tried anything from the Boots Botanics range?
