Summer is on it's way out which means my holiday tan (re: glow) is fading fast and I'll be reaching for my tanning bottles. The one I've pulled out of my stash this time? BeautyLab's Peptide Tanning Lotion*. BeautyLab Peptide Tanning Lotion (£20.00) has been sitting in my 'to use' basket for a long while so I was thought why not give it a blast last weekend ahead of a girl's night out?
BeautyLab Peptide Tanning Lotion put me on edge at first. It's a white lotion, that looks like moisturiser, meaning there's no colour guide when applying it. So, after using a mitt to lather it over my skin, I went to bed expecting to look extremely patchy and weird in the morning. Lo and behold though, the result was flawless! I was so, so surprised because I've never used anything without a colour guide but there was no patchiness at all! I'm telling you now, if you get this yourself don't be scared of this you have nothing to worry about.
The colour is really natural, it's a perfect olive tone with no orangey edge in sight - ideal. It felt really moisturising on my skin which I believe is down to the cocoa, rose petal, jasmine and passion flower and there was no streaks or weird gathering around my ankles or wrists.
Now, the biggest make or break for me with tanning... the smell. I'm over the moon to report, I think I may have found the first ever tanning lotion that doesn't smell like biscuits. Yep, you read that right - a big deal, no? BeautyLab Peptide Tanning Lotion has guava and melon in it which creates a delicious citrus scent that hangs around whilst it develops and masks any potential malted milk-ness. I asked the other half if he could smell anything when he came to bed... nope, zilch. We have a winner!
It's fading nicely, I'd say it began to fade after around 4 or 5 days which is fine with me. For reference, I applied it first on Thursday night (28/08) and that photo above was taken on Sunday (31/08). I'll definitely be reapplying this over and over again because it's truly something special in the way of self tanning lotions!
Have you tried BeautyLab Peptide Tanning Lotion?
