The Body Shop Detox Party

Happy Friday 13th! Ooooh spooky! Yeah sorry, I'm not superstitious in anyway at all but it's all fun and games so stay safe out there today ;).

Back to today's post... a couple of weeks back I was kindly invited to an event the The Body Shop in Birmingham's Bullring - a Detox Party! I'd known this was coming up since before Christmas and couldn't wait to go for a New Year pamper and to check out some of the new products.

When we arrived we were greeted with a green tea and some water - healthy and detoxifying from the get go! The ladies has set up several stands for us to all get a skincare consultation, a mini facial and a hand massage. Myself and my friend Becky stopped at one together and had a rundown of the different ranges. Being a little bit of a TBS addict I knew right away which range I wanted to use and luckily the lady helping us agreed - Vitamin E. Y'all know my obsession with the Vitamin E range... So I had my makeup taken off with the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser followed by a swipe of the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner before finishing with a light layer of the Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream. This last one I'd not tried before and it was so lovely - just like the rest. The whole range is fab for dehydrated skin, is so gentle and I'd say pretty much anyone could benefit from trying it out.

I also got to try out the brand spanking new Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask! Well, I'd had a teeny sample the week before and had really enjoyed using it but got to have a little applied this night too. I sat there for around 20 minutes before it began to sink in and mattify then wiped off the excess - y'know, so I could leave without looking like something from a horror film! Overall, I really like it but will have a full review up on Sunday...

We were offered the chance to have our makeup done after the facial but Becky and I thought we'd take advantage of all the goodness on our skin and skip that! Although, that didn't mean we didn't go swatch crazy on some of the new Smoky Poppy range. There are 5 new cream sticks for both cheeks and lips, all of them are really pretty shades - I particularly liked a coral one - but there's also one in a black tube that reacts to your skin tone. I'm always fascinated by these but they always bring out a Barbie pink on me which I don't actually think suits me!

The Smoky Poppy range itself is beautiful Seriously, I urge everyone to go in and have a sniff because it's totally different to anything The Body Shop have released before. It's deep and musky and there's a spicy aroma you get after a little while. I'd say it could definitely be enjoyed by both men and women. Within the range there are 7 products: Body Butter, Body Scrub, Shower Gel, Body Lotion, Massage Oil (ooer!), EDT and brand new Bath Bombs which is super exciting as they've not done those before. Becky picked those up, she actually has a post on them today, and I'll more than likely be getting the EDT/Body Lotion soon so keep your eyes peeled!

Also - major thanks to Bec for letting me steal these pictures... silly me forgot the camera!

It was such a lovely night getting to see some familiar blogging faces so a big, big thank you to Elaine (who is the nicest person ever!) and the rest of the team for treating us into 2015!

Have you seen any of The Body Shop's new releases yet?

Sounds like such a good time, especially the skincare consultation, I'd love something like that at an event!
