Top Three | Red Lips

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... it sure is! I've done pretty much all my Christmas shopping apart from a couple but they'll be done by the weekend! Definitely impressed myself this year, way ahead of schedule but it does all need wrapping and sending off to Santa for delivery...

Anyway, with festive celebrations in full swing what better time than to whack out the red lips, no? Christmas is full of reds and greens and as I'm not quite brace enough to rock  one of the leafy kind, I'll go with something rouge instead and my three favourites?

Maybelline Color Drama 'Red Essential' I love the Color Drama pencils and raved about them when they first launched - they still hold a special place in my heart and Red Essential is pretty much the perfect Christmas red. Not too orange, not too dark and the matte finish is one of the easiest formulas to wear from my experience. Plus, totally affordable.

NARS Matte Lip Pencil 'Red Square' For those of us who prefer something a little more tomato-y, Red Square is the one you need. Another matte finish that's silky smooth and so similar to the Maybelline offering. The shade is just a little brighter - if that's your game, go for it.

MAC 'Love Goddess' Ohh this is an oldie but a goodie for me and I'm super sorry for those of you who don't have this limited edition offering in your stash! Love Goddess, from the Marilyn Monroe collection, is a gorgeous cool toned red with a slight pink undertone. I find it one of the easiest reds to wear, can slick it on with anything and always makes me feel just a touch more glam. A good dupe I spotted online it layering Impassioned over Ruby Woo.

What are you perfect Christmas red lips?

  1. I really need to get my hands on some of those maybelline colour drama pencils, I've heard so many good things about them and they're so much more affordable than the Nars versions!
