Why should I drink green tea?

I'm warning you now, I have a green tea problem. I'm completely obsessed and feel very off balance if I don't have one to start my day. Convinced you I'm a crazy tea lady now? Ok, good.

The truth is, I can ramble on about beauty products and skincare goop until the cows come home but you really can make a huge difference to your skin and appearance if you look after you from the inside. I don't want to sound preachy, and this truly is just from experience, but I think it's always nice to find a different way of working on ourselves. The main reason I love green tea is because it boosts my metabolism, gets things going first thing in the morning and makes me feel much less bloated - lovely.

Green tea is loaded with tons of good stuff, none that I know the names off, but it all helps with your digestive system, antioxidants and generally making the insides good. It has less caffeine than coffee or standard tea which is always a plus and instead keeps you alert by keeping you hydrated. As I said, it's considered to boost metabolism, although not everyone agrees, but I definitely get on board with it. It's definitely helped with my weight loss - along with a healthy diet and working out - because it aids fat burning.

Now onto my faves! I have tried so, so many different flavours of green tea but I think I've narrowed it down to my top three...

Twinings Peach & Cherry Blossom link
This was the first flavoured one I tried and still one of the ones I pick up whenever I'm running low. That peach flavour? Hell to the Yes! The fruitiness isn't over powering but the cherry blossom sweetens it up so it's not so bitter.

Twinings Pineapple & Grapefruit link
This was a recommendation from a friend originally - it'd never appealed to me until then. I was wrong. This tastes super fresh and the sharpness of the grapefruit cuts through any bitterness from the standard green tea flavour.

Higher Living Green Tea Coconut* link
Ohhh mama. You all know by now my obsession with anything coconut so when this came through my door I was more than excited. I polished off a box within a week or so and am now hooked. The coconut flavour is really present and in general the whole things tastes a little more wholesome than the Twinings offerings. I add a quarter of a teaspoon of sugar with this one as it's a tad bitter but shhh!

Higher Living actually have a gorgeous range of teabags in a number of ranges - Chamomile & Vanilla, Green Tea Chai, Liquorice, Evening, Sweet Chai, Vanilla Chai... ok, I'll stop, but you get the point. Worth a look!

Do you drink green tea?

  1. Ahhh Amy Eyeliner! I love green tea, my absolute favourite at the minute is the Twinings Apple & Pear green tea, so delicious and in the summer I make it cold and put ice cubes in it, so refreshing. I also love peppermint tea one in the morning and one in the evening. So good. So pleased somebody else shares my obsession too :)
