Review: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

I know right - where have I been, living under a rock? Why am I only just reviewing the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish* now? Well... because this, ladies and gents, is my first cleanser. Disgusting, I know...

Up until now, I've only been a single cleanser - a swipe of my L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution and on to the rest of my routine. However, with my skin being a little up and down in recent weeks, and hearing from so many of my favourite bloggers about double cleansing, I thought it was time to get serious.

The lovely guys over at Liz Earle sent me the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit to try out. I've known this particular one to be a favourite amongst first timers and one of my besties even seemed shocked that I'd not tried it - oops. You simply apply it to dry skin, massage it in thoroughly then, after dampening under warm water, wipe away the product using one of the two muslin cloths in the kit.

I have to say I'm really impressed! First off, it smells delicious. The rosemary isn't over powering but makes the experience very relaxing. Secondly - does it work? Well, I always thought my micellar solution got rid of all my makeup but using this shows that my skin has never been fully cleansed - albeit there's only a little on the cloth but more than I'd expected! It's super easy and I've been using this every other night (I'm still trying to get into the habit) but I already feel like my skin is much cleaner. I'm hoping this is a new addition to my routine and I can explore the cleanser route more in the future!

For now, Liz totes has my back on this one. Cheers, Liz.

Are you a double cleanser? Which is your favourite to use?

  1. I used to use this all the time bit after a while I found it did nothing much for my skin….but I do miss how gentle it was and the smell!

I recently started using the Lancome Gel Eclat cleanser, its pretty good so far, but I don't think it's going to replace Liz Earle!
    Btw, I love your blog!
