An Ode To Dry Shampoo | COLAB

I'm a lazy girl on a weekday. Like seriously, if I can get away with doing the minimum - I'm gonna take that option. So you can imagine that when it comes to doing something with my hair, I like to keep it simple. I don't wash my hair every night, probably every other or every two, so I'v become a serious dry shampoo groupie.

Now, believe me, I've tried pretty much every single dry shampoo you can find on the high street in constant search of the perfect can. There have been a number of good 'uns along the way - Batiste, Fudge, Tre Semme - but the be all and end all for me right now is COLAB from Ruth Crilly. Every brand claims to give us an invisible dry shampoo with no stickiness that smells sweet but Ruth's actually hit the nail on the head with this one!

COLAB Dry Shampoo is completely invisible - absolutely no white cast, I promise - and doesn't leave my hair feeling tacky and gritty like some other brands can. There are five different scents - London, Paris, New York, Rio and Tokyo - that come in a large 200ml can or a travel 50ml size plus each variant has an 'Extreme Volume' version too (more on that another time). My favourite is Tokyo, I naughtily sprayed them all in store and was instantly drawn to the spicy, oriental fragrance over the others. Although, none of them were unappealing!

So how do I use dry shampoo? When I first dabbled with it many years ago, I don't think I really knew how to get the most out of it and found spraying into the roots on the day never really gave my the results I wanted and didn't get rid of the oiliness as much as I'd have liked. However, I've found the perfect solution - spritz it onto your roots the night before! I can't tell you how much of a difference this has made! By targeting the roots before bed, you get it before the oils sets in - spritz a ton of it and leave it, don't rub it in. Come morning, any oils that would have been will have soaked up the dry shampoo and your left with super fresh hair! This has worked with most dry shampoos I've tried but COLAB gives the best results for me and, because it's so lightweight, I can do this technique 2 or 3 times in a row (perfect for super lazy girls!) before things get a little clogged up. I've bought 2 cans since January and used it a few times a week if that gives you an idea of how long a can will last.

What's your favourite dry shampoo?
