I'm not sure whether to give myself a round of applause for putting off the temptation to sign up to Birchbox for so long, or slap myself on the wrist for being a beauty blogger who put it off for so long. Either way, I gave in - and boy, I'm glad I did!
I think beauty boxes became a bit of a fad to begin with and the one I first signed up to ended up disappointing me month after month and I felt they became lazy with the products so I gave up and retired. However, after having Birchbox pop up on my Facebook and Twitter pages a lot recently with an impressive back catalog of previous products, I decided to bite the bullet.
I can't be more impressed by the October box! Firstly, the packaging is lovely. The box is smaller than others I've had which I prefer and I love that they come in a little drawstring bag! Secondly, not only do you get 5 products, you get 2 bonus gifts and everything, I mean everything, is actually tailored to the beauty profile you fill in. In the past, any foundations/creams I've had have been completely the wrong colour or hair products have been for a totally different hair type. However, everything I got is perfect for me.
KMS FREE SHAPE Deep Conditioner
LAURA MERCIER Tinted Moisturiser
DR BRANDT Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant
DR LIPP Nipple Balm
THE BALM Staniac
Bonus
EGYPTIAN MAGIC ALL PURPOSE CREAM
BIRCHBOX EYELASH CURLERS
The three I'm most looking forward to trying out are the KMS conditioner, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser and Dr Brandt exfoliator. I'm all about smooth skin every day so that's going straight into my shower routine.
I'm also intrigued by the Egyptian Magic cream, it says it turns to gel when applied so that'll be interesting! The lash curlers have gone straight in my handbag so I can keep my Shu Uemura ones in my makeup bag.
It's £10 a month (+p&p £2.95) and there's lots of different options for signing up. I really am impressed by the brands included in the Birchbox and will keep it up until at least Christmas - because there'll no doubt be a yummy Christmas edition - and then reassess.
Have you tried Birchbox?
Ax
I've never subscribed to a beauty box before cus' I imagined it would cost an arm and a leg. £12.95 is brilliant considering what products you get! I'd love to try Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser. x

Good selection of products to test there ... Especially the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. I have never tried the beauty boxes but seen that there is also one called Glossybox. In your opinion, what one would you say is the best?

Hi! I used to get Glossybox and, in all honesty, I prefer Birchbox. I prefer the products and there tends to be more high end brands in it. I also like that Birchbox tailor your box to your preferences so it's highly unlikely you'll get something you don't want or won't use :) Ax
DeleteFrom what I have read so far Birchbox is better than the Glossybox. I am still going to give both a try and then pick one or the other (or none and simply spend £13 a month on something I do want...) They are appealing though so have to give it a try.
