Review: The Body Shop Bouncy Sleeping Mask

A little late going today.. after all, it is Sunday! But I promised you a little review of The Body Shop's Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask, so here it is.

I picked up the full size of this a week or so ago after having a little tester from my local store. This truly is like nothing I've used before! I've heard of overnight masks sure, but it's the texture of this that gets me. It's like a custard, but really thick - so thick that the little spatula can stand up in it - but when applied to the skin it's more like a gel. Once you've dunked into it, it evens out like a memory foam mattress - super strange, but also kinda cool!

But all of this fancy and fun texture isn't worth squat if it doesn't work, right? Well this sure does! As I said, when you apply it to the face it's more of a gel consistency - just smooth it over the skin, massaging slightly and leave over night as you sleep! It's not too sticky so won't get tacky against your pillow, but I'd still say to sleep on your back if possible. It's really lightweight though so I've found I can hardly feel it on which it great and I use this on top of an eye cream but nothing else. I guess you could use a serum but this is really moisture injecting so I don't think you need it.

When I woke up I found it had to wipe off a little excess but my skin looked super plump and really youthful - yes, I'm only 24 but I still saw a difference. Plump is definitely the right word and a little glowy as well and that was after just one use, this can be used every single night so imagine how great your skin could look!

At £22 it's not the cheapest product out there, especially for The Body Shop, but it's from the Drops of Youth range which is the higher end of the price bracket for them. I'd definitely say it's worth it though, you only need one flat spatula full - make sure you keep hold on the sucker! - because a little goes a long way. Go on in store and test it out and ask for a sample if you can, I'm really interested to see how other people get on with it!
