La Roche Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti Blemish System

Being in my 20s, it's not very often I get a breakout - if I do, it tends to be on a small area from a reaction to a new product maybe. However, I have the standard hormonal play up every now and then and have to rummage around my stash for something to blitz it. I've spoken about my perfect blemish busting duo before but I've now got my hands on a 3-step solution from La Roche Posay.

The La Roche Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti Blemish System* is designed for blemish prone skin to clear it up within 4 weeks of use using just the three products: Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel, Effaclar Clarifying Toner and Effaclar Duo+. It claims to reduce redness, improve skintone and texture as well as give visible results in 24 hours all with a money back guarantee if you don't see clearer skin in the 4 weeks. I felt a breakout coming on recently so I waited for it to rear it's ugly head(s) to put it to the test. Sure enough, last week my skin had a real paddy. My face is pretty much like a dot to dot with some serious angry lumps and bumps. As it's only been a few days I can't give you a proper review yet but check back later this month for a full roundup.

Let's take a look at the products though... the Effaclar Purifying Foamin Gel isn't my usual choice of cleanser. I normally have quite dehydrated skin so tend to steer away from foamy cleansers but this is actually really gentle. I take off my makeup first then use this to really cleanse the skin. It has no smell which suggests it wouldn't irritate sensitive skin and doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped. Two thumbs up so far! Then I take a cotton pad and swipe a little Effaclar Clarifying Toner over the skin. Now I can't say whether this does much yet - I've never been convinced by toners - but I'll carry on using it in conjunction with the other products and report back! Again, my skin doesn't feel too tight after it and it has no fragrance. Then we have my favourite of the bunch - Effaclar Duo+. I loved the original and this hasn't disappointed!

So far, my blemishes are being tackled well. They're not gone, but they're getting there... I won't go in to detail but these badboys are being busted. Slowly, but surely. I'll keep you updated...

Have you tried the La Roche Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti Blemish System?
